Project first submitted. Classed as an exploration vessel the Sovereign class is designed to replace the aging Excelsior and Ambassador classes and to supplement the delayed Galaxy class.

Construction begins on the USS Sovereign as the first frame members are gamma welded in a ceremony at Utopia Planitia.

Project renamed to the Pegasus-class as the fear of a Borg invasion grows and is re-designed as mobile starbase to quickly deploy the new Defiant-class and multiple Perigrine-class fighters to any location where the Borg are encountered. The brief states the impossible; A working prototype is to be completed within four years.

Borg invade the Federation, Starfleet decimated at wolf 359.

April 2367:

Analysis of the Federation defeat at Wolf 359 leads to the Pegasus-class project being abandoned as a class of this size would be an easy target for the Borg. All work on the Pegasus class is halted and its resources channeled back to the Sovereign Class, which is now redesigned to be better armed and more maneuverable.

Starfleet orders the construction of a second Sovereign class vessel The Honorius, The Sovereign's space frame is completed and the warp core and habitat modules installed

USS Sovereign launched for systems testing under the command of Admiral Arlow. Work continues on the Honorius as the ship nears completion.

Damage to subspace caused through warp travel causes the design to be re-evaluated again. The already Sleek angle of the Sovereign-class warp field means that no structural modifications are necessary.

USS Sovereign completes the first successful saucer separation and reconnection for a Sovereign-class vessel. she is nearly ready to be launched..

USS Enterprise-D destroyed at Veridian III. USS Honorius renamed USS Enterprise and the the registry changed from NCC 75122 to NCC 1701-E to follow Enterprise lineage.

USS Enterprise-E launched for testing under Captain Jean-Luc Picard. USS Argus and USS Libertine near completion.

USS Enterprise commissioned, congratulations received from the USS Sovereign via Subspace.

Starfleet orders the Construction of two more Sovereign-class vessels as hostilities with the Klingon increase.

Production of further Sovereign-class vessels beyond those already in production is halted as Starfleet prepares for war with the Dominion. Importance is placed on recommisioning older classes (such as the Miranda) and the production of small, more tactically orientated vessels (such as the Defiant and Akira classes)

The Borg invade the Federation space for the second time; USS Enterprise is transported back to 2063 after successfully defending Earth. Unable to return to earth in time, the USS Sovereign assigned to the Cardassian border to prevent possible dominion incursion.

Whilst patrolling the Cardassian border the Sovereign discovers a tear in the space time continuum near the planet Galabo and encounters the USS Discovery NX-03 with her Captain John Simonson, they are unable to find a way to return by themselves but with the help of the Commander DeSolo they discover a way and return they promise that no record would be on general release to the public however in closed files at Starfleet HQ a record remains of the meeting of the Sovereign and Discovery.

The Sovereign and her crew dock at Starbase 211 and celebrate the old earth ritual of Christmas, they are interrupted in their celebrations by a call to Betazed where there has been reports of Jem Hadar ships in the system. here they will be joined by the USS Exeter NCC 2561-F

No ships were discovered in the Betazed System so the Sovereign returns to her patrols.

| May 8th 2374 :
|
Federation day...........The Sovereign receives a call from Starfleet HQ, the galaxy class USS Leviathan has gone missing and has not checked in for over 72 hours she was last seen in the vicinity of Starbase 310 on the Cardassian, Federation and Tzenketh Coalition Border Captain Naughton-Shires and his crew are sent to investigate the journey will take her 12 hours from her currant position.

The Sovereign arrives at the Leviathans last know position to discover a shocking site, the galaxy class ship is totally destroyed and her remains are strewn across thousands of miles of space ...there are no life signs. During a secondary sweep a weak life sign is discovered in a escape pod it is a young klingon officer. He is delirious and screaming about big black ship, Lt. Cmdr D'Aratgh talks to him in Klingon and discovers that the ship appeared from nowhere and just cut through the Leviathan and a Cardassian ship which was in the same star system. He translates the phrase the klingon officer uses into Federation standard 'like a hot knife through butter'

The Sovereign and her crew meet with the 'Black Ship' over the next two days they battle....CLASSIFIED....CLASSIFIED....

||

The newly fitted USS Sovereign sets sail (take a look at her new 'logos' a crest and a patch........... and the story continues........
